2.1 Accès au col des Mines

Route

1. Before you get the bottom of the Lac des Vaux 1 chairlift, exit the slope on the left–hand side.
2. Here there is a path with a net and rope barrier stretched across it, if the net is closed, you should not proceed as the path to the Col des Mines is dangerous and the mountain route is closed. If it is open, carry on, down a small (often bumpy) bowl.
3. The famous path carved into the mountainside starts at the bottom of this bowl.
4. The second part of the path cuts across the slope with a level traverse to the Col des Mines. This is where the avalanche risk is greatest.
